Ana Bunjak

Ana Bunjak is a stage director and media theorist based in Belgrade. She completed her studies in opera directing at the Opera Academy in Verona. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in Theatre Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where she previously earned a Master’s degree in Theater and Media Studies.
She has honed her craft as an assistant director in productions at some of Europe’s most renowned opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala (Milan), Arena di Verona, Teatro Massimo (Palermo), Teatro dell’Opera (Rome). She has collaborated on productions by directors such as Hugo de Ana, Franco Zeffirelli, Lorenzo Mariani, the troupe La Fura dels Baus, and participated in masterclasses with leading European opera directors.
Since 2013, Ana has worked across theatre and multimedia projects in various roles, including directing, production, editing, music, and sound design. Her work has been presented in Serbia and across the region, as well as in Belarus, Russia, Italy, and Mexico. Her artistic approach is characterized by a multidisciplinary method and a fusion of musical and dramatic structures. Her latest production, Lucidity Triptych, marked the opening of Belgrade’s first immersive theatre. Since 2020, she has collaborated as a director with the Mexico City-based production company Torre de Viento Producciones, creating a series of theatre productions and video works.
Ana is a copywriter at the advertising agency New Moment New Ideas in Belgrade. She has contributed to campaigns for clients such as Coca-Cola, P&G, Delhaize, dm, Yettel, Belgrade Philharmonic, and developed materials for various festivals.
