SEMPLER is the only competition of media strategists and planers in the region. It is organised every year as part of SEMPL, the international meeting of media strategists, planers, media, advertisers and clients.

Applications may be filed by media strategists or planers, agencies, media and clients who commission communication projects.

The Golden SEMPLER is awarded in each of the six competition categories, whereas the biggest media breakthrough of the year is awarded the Grand SEMPLER.

Registering deadline

Projects have to be submitted by Monday, 2nd November 2009.

Competition categories

  • A

    Strategic use of the media mix

    Communication projects that are strategic and ingenious in their usage of media or communication channels.

  • B

    Innovative use of existing media

    Communication projects that innovatively use or upgrade the specifics of a certain medium.

  • C

    Direct Approaches

    Communication projects that use direct communication channels for establishing interaction with various target groups (CRM concepts, direct mail, promotion at point-of-sale, events, etc).

  • D

    Strategic sponsorship placement

    Sponsorship projects that are linked with a specific medium, or communication projects designed to support a specific event, organisation or individual target groups.

  • E

    Innovative media

    Communication projects which transform objects or factors that primarily have a different function, into a medium or a communication channel.

  • F

    Generation Y media

    Communication projects that use the Generation Y media - the internet or mobile phones.
